About the Chef

Kevin is an energetic and talented chef whose cooking is deeply influenced by the Pacific Northwest’s seasonal bounty. Each spring, he eagerly anticipates the arrival of Alaska’s famed Copper River salmon, one of his favorite ingredients to feature on the menu at Ray’s.

Kevin’s curiosity about food extends far beyond the kitchen. He enjoys traveling and exploring global cuisines, an interest that began early when he spent two years living in Doha, Qatar during high school. The experience helped shape his appreciation for diverse culinary traditions and flavors from around the world.

A graduate of the University of Washington, Kevin spent his college summers working at Agua Verde Paddle Club on Portage Bay, where he developed a lasting connection to Seattle’s waterways. That love of the water continues today at Ray’s, where he often takes time to enjoy the surrounding marine environment and watch the abundant bird life—from bald eagles and cormorants to belted kingfishers.

Outside the kitchen, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, studying wine and cooking elaborate meals at home.
