Glazer's Camera

Passionate about photography since 1935.

Full service store of new and used photographic equipment for pro and amateur.

Glazer’s Camera is the Northwest’s premier source for professional photography equipment and supplies. We are a third generation, locally owned full-line camera store with a strong commitment to stock everything the working professional and serious hobbyist needs to properly pursue the craft.

We strive to adhere to Ed Glazer’s (1908-2004) business principles he put in place when he founded the store in 1935 on Seattle’s First Avenue, a few blocks from historic Pioneer Square. Goods were purchased and deals consummated on a handshake back then, and this tradition of service is carried on through Ari Lackman and Rebecca Kaplan, third generation co-owners.

EXPERT STAFF

The knowledgeable staff of Glazer’s represents decades of experience in commercial & fine art photography, videography, and photo education. This diversity is invaluable to our customers, offering a knowledge base that can help solve most challenges. And our non-commissioned sales environment offers a less stressful experience for our customers.

EDUCATION

Glazer’s fosters education with staff training, up-to-date classes for our customers, and scholarships for photography students at Seattle Central Creative Academy.

Bird Photography with Olympus & Steve Ball

Calling all bird photographers!

We will be heading out to the West Sound Wildlife Shelter and photographing some of the beautiful birds they have at their facilities.

For this event we are partnering with Olympus and Steve Ball. We will have a limited selection of Olympus gear for attendees to try. As well Steve will be providing tips on photographing birds, including the best camera settings and composition techniques.

This will be a great opportunity to get amazing photos of birds with the crew at West Sound Wildlife Shelter.

What to bring

  • Camera with charged batteries and memory cards with lots of room
  • Telephoto lens

A limited selection of Olympus Cameras and Lenses will be available to use during this event. If you’re interested in this option, be sure to bring an extra SD Card!

Meet your instructor, Steve Ball.

Steve Ball is a photo industry veteran and nature/birding photographer based in the Pacific Northwest. His study of photography began at the age of six with lessons from his Dad. Washington is where he has found a serious passion for birding with its diversity of habitats and environments.

Whether sharing his knowledge at a workshop or in a camera store representing Olympus’ Sales and Marketing Team, Steve strives to impart his love of birding and bird photography, as well as the appropriate tools to capture the shots they’re looking for. As a former photojournalist, he has learned to hone his skills and share them with those who love and appreciate photography as he does. Steve strives to share the concepts for capturing better images easy to understand for beginners through advanced photographers.
