Winston Wächter is pleased to announce our first solo exhibition with New York photographer Kim Keever. Trained as a thermal engineer (having worked on several NASA projects), Kim Keever brings his knowledge of science and physics to his experimental experiences of water and paint. He blends his “ingredients” in what he calls his “painting machine” (a large water filled aquarium) and documents the transient results. For Keever, he is only in control of what is put into the process, but the results are wholly random. From his numerous documentary images, he will narrow down to a select few, spending months discovering the composition which moves him most. What excites Keever in part, is the distinctly personal reaction each viewer will have with the forms, bringing part of their memories to each artwork.

Kim Keever’s work is included in numerous collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Brooklyn, Hirshhorn Museum, Washington, DC. He has been featured in many publications including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Wired Magazine.
