In Western Washington, as across the nation, treaties are legally binding documents dictating the government-to-government relationship between Tribes and the United States federal government. Yet, the legacy of the Treaties is a litany of broken promises by the United States, and the inextinguishable fight by Native people to uphold their ways of life.
Join local tribal historians and leaders for a discussion of the histories and futures of the Treaties, and learn how Native peoples continue to exercise and fight for their rights and sovereignty.
