In normal times, Shine is a boutique that serves cancer patients, families, and anyone with great taste and a big heart. But these aren’t normal times, and like many other businesses in South Lake Union, the shop that supports the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance has had to make adjustments.
To protect its high-risk customer base and employees, the well-loved shop closed its doors in late May this year. But Shine continues to brighten the community by offering appointment-only shopping for those that need it. The shop is open by appointment only for asymptomatic patients who need post-surgical camisoles, compression garments, mastectomy bras and breast prosthesis.
Closing the Shine doors has been a tough adjustment for store managers Eileen Hood and Carrie Jacobsen.
