Dive into the world of food photography!

In this immersive event we will review essential techniques to get started in food photography, utilizing available light and off camera lighting, including tips on composition and more.

This event is open to anyone with an interest in food photography, whether you have a desire to become a food blogger, pro food photographer, or even just take better snaps for your Instagram feed, you will leave this hands-on workshop with a great start!

In collaboration with The Collective, we will have a selection of items to photograph, from appetizers to entrees to desserts. One of their chef’s will also demo some plating techniques!

What to Bring

  • Camera
  • 1-2 lenses (We recommend one be little wide in the 20-35 range, and one in the 50 – 85 range. If you have a macro, that can be fun too.)
  • Props if you have some you would want to try
  • Notebook and pen if you like to take notes!

Fujifilm will provide a selection of cameras and lenses for you to try during this event.

You can bring your own camera, or you can demo a Fujifilm Camera. If you want to demo a Fujifilm camera, please be sure to bring a SD card.

About Kate

Kate is a Portrait & Travel Photographer based in Seattle, who’s always held a fondness of photographing food! Kate’s work is a mix of studio portraiture to street photography, blending in movement and stories along the way. When she’s not creating images you’ll find her teaching Photography, Portrait Lighting and Mobile Photography. Her most current work can be found on her Instagram feed @KateHailey.
