Previously known as Plant Camp, Made in SLU is a monthly series running from May to October 2024, in partnership with SLU Bouquet. These unique crafting events are free and open to all. Each time, you’ll have the opportunity to create something new and take it home with you.
Each event will take place on the Day 1 Playfield in two timeslots; 11AM – 1PM and 4PM – 6PM, so pick which one works best for you! This event is walk-up only and on a first-come, first served basis, as space is limited. You can only sign up for Made in SLU by scanning the QR code on the “Check In” signage at the event, no pre-registration is required.
This event is very popular and wait times can vary, so please remain patient as we work to accommodate all who are interested. Each craft can be completed in approximately 30 minutes or less, depending on your level of creativity. These crafts won’t take up too much time, making them a perfect choice for a quick mid-day break!

May 29th – Made in SLU: Moss Shadowbox
Join us on May 29th for the Moss Shadowbox workshop! As an attendee, you’ll get a 5×5 shadowbox to create your very own miniature moss world. You’ll be provided a variety of preserved mosses with different textures and types, along with wood and other natural elements. The best part? This desktop greenery is super low-maintenance—it doesn’t need watering and will stay beautiful over time!
June 26th – Made in SLU: Stem Bar
Come out on June 26th for the Stem Bar event! SLU Bouquet is teaming up with a nearby flower grower to bring you the freshest seasonal blooms. At the Stem Bar, you’ll have the chance to handpick your favorite flowers and foliage from a diverse selection. Then, get creative and arrange them in charming milk jar bud vases. It’s a fun way to express your creativity while supporting local growers!
July 31st – Made in SLU: Friendship Bracelets
It’s the era of the friendship bracelet! Participate in the July 31st Made in SLU event for a day of friendship bracelet crafting. Grab your favorite beads, channel your inner artist, and create 2-3 unique bracelets. Keep one for yourself, and spread good vibes by gifting the others to your co-workers, friends, or anyone else who’s special. It’s all about celebrating connections and sharing positivity!
August 28th – Made in SLU: Dry Flower Art
At the August 28th Made in SLU event, participants will select a postcard-sized card from an array of designs. These cards will feature faces for adding hair, vases for arranging, or animals with heads and feet to complete their bodies. You can customize them however you’d like! You’ll be able to pick from a wide selection of dried flowers while you create your very own masterpiece. It’s going to be a blooming good time!
September 25th – Made in SLU: Pressed Flower Suncatcher
On September 25th, you’ll have the choice of making a sun catcher or crafting bookmarks adorned with real pressed flowers. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a complete beginner, this event is perfect for everyone. Plus, you’ll leave with a beautiful keepsake – a sun catcher to brighten up your window or a beautifully crafted personalized bookmark.
October 31st – Made in SLU: Pumpkin Decorating
It’s that spooky time of year once again! Celebrate Halloween with a day of pumpkin decorating at the Day 1 Playfield! Templates will be provided for those who want a little guidance, but feel free to go wild with your own freestyle design! Create your pumpkin exactly how you like using the colorful assortment of push pins – they’ll take your artistic expression to the next level.
