These unique events are free and open to everyone, offering a fantastic opportunity to unleash your creativity and take home your handmade creations each time.
How Do I Join In?
Each event will be held at Nitro Plaza from 3 pm to 6 pm. This is a walk-up event, operating on a first-come, first-served basis due to limited space. To sign up for Made in SLU, simply scan the QR code on the “Check In” signage at the event—no pre-registration required.
Given the popularity of this event, wait times can vary, so please be patient as we work to accommodate everyone. Each craft can be completed in about 30 minutes or less, making it a perfect choice for a quick mid-day break.

May 28 – Create Your Own Flower Seed Bomb
Create a charming gift for a friend or a lovely addition to your garden! Participants can choose from a wide range of seed types to craft a seed bomb, either with a single variety or a blend of wildflowers. Seed bombs are small, clay-covered ball containing seeds and compost, used to plant flowers or other plants in areas where traditional planting methods are difficult or impractical. June 11 – Mini Moss Garden
Create your own Mini Moss Garden at this Made in SLU event! Each participant will receive a small glass jar to fill with layers of substrate, rocks, soil, and live moss, crafting a charming mini moss terrarium. Take it home and watch your little green world thrive and grow.
June 25 – Dried Flower Wreath
Join us for a Dried Flower Wreath activity on June 25th! Participants will start by wrapping twine around their wreath to create a beautiful woven structure. Then, they’ll select from an array of dried flowers to weave into their wreath, crafting a stunning and unique decoration.
July 16 – Clay Flower Frog
Unleash your creativity with this Clay Flower Frog workshop! Guests will use self-drying clay to craft their own flower frogs. Simply place your creation on top of a vase and add floral stems for an effortless arrangement. You’ll also have the option to press botanicals and designs into the clay for a personalized touch.
July 30 – Craft Your Own Magnetic Air Plant Holder
Stop by the Made in SLU event on July 30th to craft a perfect desk-side decoration! Participants will receive a magnetic jar and choose from a variety of air plants. Tables will be filled with decorative pebbles, sand, moss, and other elements to design a unique and enchanting home for your air plant.
August 13 – Pressed Flower Bookmark
At this Made In SLU event, immerse yourself in the delicate art of pressed flower bookmark making! Participants will craft two beautiful bookmarks, each adorned with pressed flowers. This activity not only results in stunning creations but also offers practical use. Keep one for yourself and gift the other to a friend!
August 27 – DIY Dried Flower Wearables
Get ready to craft charming, colorful wearables with dried flowers! Participants will create delightful accessories that can be tied in your hair, worn around your neck, or even adorned on your furry friends.
September 10 – Make Your Own Moss Shadow Box
Dive into the world of miniature gardening with this Moss Shadow Box workshop! Attendees will receive a 5×5 shadowbox to create their own lush, miniature moss landscape. With a variety of preserved mosses in different textures and types, along with wood and natural elements, you’ll have everything you need to design a unique, low-maintenance piece of desktop greenery. Best of all, this beautiful creation requires no watering and will remain vibrant over time.
September 24 – Fresh Flower Stem Bar
SLU Bouquet will be collaborating with a nearby flower grower to showcase the finest seasonal blooms! Guests can select their flowers and foliage from a diverse stem bar and create their own arrangements in milk jar bud vases.
October 15 – Cactus Rock Garden
Get ready to craft your very own “ever-living” cactus garden! Participants will paint rocks with delightful designs, transforming them into adorable, everlasting cacti.
October 29 – Tip & Drip Pumpkins
Unleash your creativity and bring your pumpkin to life with vibrant colors at this festive fall Made in SLU event! Participants will use squeeze paint around the stem, then tip and drip to craft unique and fun designs.
