SLU’s Winter Wonderland

‘Tis the season for holiday events in South Lake Union.

South Lake Union is transforming into a Winter Wonderland this season, offering a variety of magical holiday experiences for all ages. Through January 7, the neighborhood lights up with Winter Wonderland art installations, markets, and more, inviting everyone to immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere.

The Regrade
“Day 1nce Upon a Time” at 2121 Seventh Avenue features “Horizon”, a creation by Olivier Landreville in collaboration with Serge Maheu, produced by Creos. These interactive art pieces turn Day 1 Playfield into a dazzling but cozy destination. Visitors can sit inside dome-shaped pods and enjoy a twinkly night sky in this very Instagrammable experience.

Check out “The Nitro Enchanted Forest,” a twinkly lit-up tree experience a block away at 2250 7th Ave. As night falls, these lights create an idyllic winter scene, adding to SLU’s enchanting ambiance.

Mainstay Provisions at 2295 Seventh Avenue is hosting its annual Holiday Bazaar on Thursday, December 7 from 3 to 6pm. Find a variety of local ceramics, soaps, wreaths, jewelry, art, and more at this festive event. While you browse and shop, enjoy beverages (including wine, beer, cocktails, and coffee), all available for purchase.

Van Vorst Plaza
Embrace more holiday cheer at Van Vorst Plaza. Don’t miss “Winter Chill at Van Vorst” at 410 Terry Avenue North where you can enjoy a colorful faux fire, perfect for hot cocoa and catching up with friends.

The annual Winter Market, in partnership with Urban Craft Uprising, returns to Van Vorst Plaza on December 7 and 8. Local vendors will showcase holiday goodies and homemade creations from 10am to 5pm.

Denny Park
Denny Park becomes a beacon of festive lights from through February 1. The park-wide light display is a sight to behold for winter evening walks. The celebrations begin on December 6 with The Dickens Carolers performing from 12:30 to 1:30pm.

Denny Park will also host a Food Truck Rodeo & Live Music on December 6 and 13 from 11am to 2pm. Enjoy a variety of food truck offerings and live performances, perfect for a lunch break with friends, family, or coworkers.

Lastly, “Santa Paws Outdoor Movie” will be screened at Denny Park on December 16, from noon to 2pm. This free event welcomes kids and pups alike, with complimentary hot chocolate to keep everyone warm.

This winter, South Lake Union is the place to be for magical installations, cozy gatherings, and festive activities, creating unforgettable holiday memories.
