Tasty lunches in SLU to take back to your desk.

As office buildings begin to buzz again in South Lake Union, so too does the lunch scene. From fast casual chainlets like Evergreens and Homegrown to local faves like Vinason for pho and Marination for kalbi beef tacos, the neighborhood is full of options for midday meals. If your brown bag lunch isn’t cutting it, pop out to one of these hot spots to bring deliciousness back to your desk.

Street Eats, 2040 Sixth Ave.

This new spot from mama group (mamnoon street, mbar, Hanson, manna) is built for the build-your-own bowl crowd. You can get Levantine small bites like fatteh (pita chips, garlic yogurt sauce, braised veggies, and crispy chickpeas) or shawarminis (think small Arabic flatbreads). But the draw at street eats is the build-your-own bowl menu — choose a base like house basmati rice, brown rice, or hummus. Add chicken shawarma, za’atar mushrooms, beef kefta meatballs, or other delightful mains. Finish with veggies and sauce (roasted garlic tahini, harry hot sauce, and garlic yogurt, to name a few.) Bowls are $14 and feature several vegetarian options. Get it now.

Marination, 2000 Sixth Ave.

This Hawaiian Korean fusion eatery is still a neighborhood favorite, and for good reason. With menu items like kalbi beef tacos, sexy tofu fried rice, and the delectable Aloha Tots (tater tots, kalua pork, kimchi sauce, mayo, scallions, slathered with a sunny egg), it’ll be easy to make your officemates jealous with your next order. Get it now.

Birds-eye view of Marination dishes like sliders and tacos.

Vinason, 2134 Westlake Ave.

This tiny triangular spot wedged near Whole Foods offers up pho and other Vietnamese delights like rice noodles, fried rice, and banh mi sandwiches the size of your forearm. Its beef broth is slow-cooked for 24 hours, but vegetarians rejoice — Vinason features a non-GMO tofu pho, too. Get it now.
