Night Life in SLU

Looking for after-dark fun? South Lake Union has you covered.

South Lake Union has plenty of excellent spots for after-hours drinks, but sometimes you’re looking for more when you’re out on the town. From concert venues to dance clubs, escape rooms, mini golf, and more, the neighborhood hosts a variety of fun-night-out activities. Check out some of our favorites below.

Book a tee time

Everyone’s favorite mini-golf bar is the perfect mix of booze and games. Flatstick Pub’s 9-hole course features elevation changes and obstacles like moving kegs and a 12-foot-tall Sasquatch. For something different, give Duffleboard a try. Flatstick Pub’s proprietary game is a mix of mini golf and shuffleboard. Bonus: Flatstick offers bingo on Tuesdays, trivia on Wednesdays, and free games for students Thursday nights.

Dance your heart out

LoFi Seattle is home to some of the best dance parties in the city. Themes like the SNAP! Y2K 90s vs. 00s, Bump Uglies (a queer dance party), and Swayze 80s are the vibe here. The Lo-Fi also hosts local, national, and international live bands and DJs. Get your groove on.

Use your big brain

Tapster is the perfect destination for summer fun. The self-serve tap room not only features dozens of excellent brews and pours but offers up a host of regular special events. One of its most popular is trivia night Monday at 7pm. Get there early to grab a seat. Bonus: Don’t miss drag bingo every Sunday night at 5pm. Super bonus: Tapster is celebrating its one-year anniversary on Saturday, June 4. Expect live DJs, drag performances, special beer tapping, and free brewery swag giveaways, all from 3pm to 1am.

Escape from reality

Grab a group of friends and make for a great escape at Quest Factor, an escape room experience in SLU. Quest Factor has four escape rooms on offer that fill certain pop culture niches (think Game of Thrones, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, and Harry Potter). Each room requires teamwork and puzzle solving. It’s helpful to bring some good nature and humor, too. The escape rooms are great for groups from 2 to 8 depending on the experience.

Hot tub time

Hot Tub Boats combines “the comfort of a spa and the freedom of a boat.” What a concept. Designed and built in nearby Ballard, these boats are easy to steer, feature an onboard heating system, a sound system, plus plenty of space for food and drinks. What better way to explore Lake Union and see the city’s beautiful skyline? Bookings are available daily, but plan in advance to get a coveted evening reservation.
