THE INAUGURAL TOUR DE PIER SEATTLE STATIONARY CYCLING FUNDRAISER OPENS REGISTRATION

Seattle’s Most Unique Charity Event Gears-up to take the Sport of Indoor Cycling to Lake Union Park to Benefit Virginia Mason Cancer Institute and Other Nonprofit Cancer Organizations

WHAT:  Registration for the Inaugural Tour de Pier Seattle, one of the most unique fundraisers in the U.S. is now open to thousands of stationary cyclists to raise money to fight cancer. The award-winning stationary cycling charity event will be making its Pacific Northwest debut on September 14 and will benefit a trio of nonprofit cancer charities:  Virginia Mason Cancer Institute; the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research and the Uncle Kory Foundation.

The Tour de Pier Seattle brings one of the “hottest” indoor fitness activities – stationary cycling – to the gorgeous outdoors. Cyclists will be overlooking stunning Lake Union near downtown Seattle while pedaling to defeat cancer. Seattle’s best instructors and celebrity guests will spin riders through a five-hour session with energizing music and loads of excitement. In addition to cycling, the public can enjoy a free Health & Fitness Expo, live entertainment, great tunes, healthy food and beverages, as well as interactive health & fitness booths.

Since the first Tour de Pier was held in May 2013 in Manhattan Beach, California (an iconic beachside community in Los Angeles), the fitness charity event has raised more than $6.5 million for nonprofit cancer organizations and has grown to be one of the most popular outdoor charity events in Southern California. With the help and generosity of strong community supporters, sponsors and donors, the Tour de Pier Seattle will be on track to reaching its $250,000 fundraising goal to support cancer research.
