Design Review is currently paused as the city revises it to comply with state law and to align with Seattle’s new 20-year Comprehensive Plan.

The new framework now under discussion will shape Seattle for decades — how buildings meet the street, how neighborhoods evolve, and how residents, developers, and city staff work together.

This calls for thoughtful reform and meaningful public participation that requires bringing community representatives to the table now —as rules are being written — to help ensure a program that is balanced, effective, and widely supported.
