Please join us as we welcome Chef Kevin Smith of The Little BeastBeast & Cleaver, and The Peasant for a special evening as we celebrate our students, build community and enjoy an incredible meal.

Guest Chef Night pairs premier local chefs with FareStart students to create a three-course meal served by volunteer community members. All revenue and donations from Guest Chef Night support FareStart’s job training and placement programs.

About the Chef

Chef Kevin Smith grew up in South East London where he learned to value a whole animal approach in butchery and cookery. He later honed these skills at both Rain Shadow Meats and The Butcher’s Table. Chef Kevin and his wife Polly opened Beast & Cleaver in 2019 to be the best of two worlds. A whole animal butcher shop, sourced from the best local farms, utilizing everything the animal has to offer. And a small, neighborhood restaurant that picks up the difference – utilizing everything that customers don’t typically purchase and never compromising on taste.

Beast & Cleaver has been named a top Seattle Restaurant by Seattle Met, Eater and Infatuation. Chef Kevin was also nominated for Best Emerging Chef in 2023 by the James Beard Foundation.
