SEATTLE, WA — Open to visual artists based in the Greater Pacific Northwest, this residency program provides regional artists with a temporary and unique work environment, project support, and a new audience. This program acknowledges the need to support local artists with access to quality work spaces, while providing opportunities for engaging dialogue and inspiring creative expression with Amazon employees. Amazon is presenting this residency with Shunpike,
an arts nonprofit nationally recognized for its Storefronts exhibition program.

Artists selected for the 2019 residency program will receive $10,000 in project support. Participants are expected to commit a minimum of 16 hours per week in studio over a ten week period, as well as hold an in-house workshop and lecture during their residency. Artists are also asked to exhibit current work on site, and contribute a current piece to Amazon’s collection. The first residency of 2019 will start February 1st.

There is a $15 application fee.
The Request for Proposals will open July 15, 2018.
The call for artists will close on September 25th, 2018. Artists can apply at https://shunpike.submittable.com/submit/117158/call-for-artist-in-residence-2019
