November is Hip Hop History Month!
Come join MOHAI Mercantile in a celebration of Seattle’s early hip hop scene and the musicians who pioneered the revolutionary sound of rap music in Seattle.
Music journalist, producer, and author Novocaine132 will talk about his new book The Birth of Seattle Rap with hip hop historian Dr. Daudi Abe, and explore the early 1980s and the groundbreaking generation of young musicians like DJ Nasty-Nes, The Emerald Street Boys, Sir Mix-a-lot, and many more.
Doors open at 6pm for music and mingling, food and drink available for purchase.
Presentation begins at 7pm, followed by a book signing with the author.
