How did Southeast Asian refugees build new lives in Seattle after war and displacement? What do the archives reveal-and what’s still missing from our collective memory?

Join 2025 MOHAI Curator’s Fellow Thanh Tan for an evening of reflection and discovery as she shares findings from her research into the museum’s archives. Through rarely seen photographs, newspaper clippings, and community documents from the 1970s and 1980s, this program reexamines the early resettlement years of Southeast Asian immigrants and refugees in the Seattle area following the Vietnam War.

ASL Interpretation and CART captioning are available during the program. In addition, a limited number of Assistive Listening Devices are available upon request. For more accessibility support, email [email protected] two weeks before the program.
