The Seattle Flying Dragons are thrilled to announce the 18th annual Seattle Dragon Boat Festival, taking place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Lake Union Park, Seattle.

This free, family-friendly event will celebrate the exciting sport of dragon boat racing, featuring competitive races, cultural performances, and community engagement from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The Seattle Dragon Boat Festival brings together over 30  international teams across multiple divisions, including Women’s, Mixed, Cancer Survivors, and Corporate/Community teams.

The festival also features cultural experiences such as live music, traditional ceremonies, Indigenous performances, and a marketplace of local artisans and food vendors. The festival honors the ancient Chinese tradition of dragon boating, which commemorates the legendary poet Qu Yuan. With roots dating back over 2,000 years, dragon boat racing has spread across the globe, creating an inclusive space for athletes and spectators from all backgrounds to unite in celebration of sport and culture. The event will also highlight Pacific Northwest Indigenous water culture, showcasing the region’s diverse heritage.
