Celebrate Mom All Month Long

For the Crafty Mom
A night spent painting and sipping on cocktails (either as a date night or with a group of other artsy mamas) at Art Marble 21 is perfect for the mom looking for a creative outlet. Spots fill up fast; sign up soon for one of two Paint Nites offered the Wednesday before and after Mother’s Day.

For the Seafaring Mom
Dedicate the day to maritime fun (and mom, of course) with the whole family. Stop by The Center for Wooden Boats for the weekly CAST OFF! Sunday Sailing program, where you can take everyone from kiddos to grandparents out for a day on the water. If Mom is feeling fancy, make reservations and head aboard the MV Lotus at The Historic Ships Wharf for a morning of sipping tea and sailing around the lake (high-tea attire is strongly encouraged).

For the Brunching Mom
Spend a leisurely morning with Mom at Portage Bay Cafe, which offers a special Mother’s Day Brunch menu in addition to favorites like their goat cheese omelet and 0atmeal cobbler french toast (plus mimosas aplenty). Art Marble 21 will also host a special Mom’s Day brunch, featuring dishes like roasted vegetable quiche and crafted cocktails. If Mom is a fan of breakfast in bed, pick up some scones and other from-scratch baked goods at Nollie’s Cafe.

For the Sentimental Mom
Maybe Mom isn’t big on extravagant celebrations, preferring gifts that come from the heart. Rogers & Ryan boasts an eclectic array of one-of-a-kind gifts and cards inspired by the shop’s namesakes, the owner’s grandmothers. Appropriately, the shop is celebrating its own two-year anniversary this Mother’s Day.

For the Always-On-The-Go Mom
If she’s the type who’s always on the move checking off a full to-do list, a day to wind down with some specialty TLC may be just the right gift. Banya 5 offers an array of spa treatments, from signature massages to scrubs and wraps. For a fully immersive break, the LifeFloat center in South Lake Union offers Epsom-salt water floating sessions that promote relaxation and restoration.

For the Expecting Mom
Restorative prenatal yoga classes at Be Luminous Yoga create a space for expecting mothers to stay healthy and comfortable during their pregnancy through full-body stretching and by teaching helpful breathing, relaxation, and meditation techniques. Plus, it provides a community for soon-to-be moms to meet and share their experience.

For the Floral-Loving Mom
Make this classic gift extra special by visiting Verde & Co. for a custom floral arrangements. The shop offers a variety of specials for Mother’s Day, including seasonal mixed bouquets paired with handmade soaps and scrumptious chocolate cookies from Standard Bakery as well as hand-drawn, digitally colored prints celebrating Washington State flora and fauna. Don’t forget to pick out a custom card to go with the arrangement!
