Table with plated Vietnamese crepes.

Vietnamese Crepes or Banh Xeo, is a savory, crispy, stuffed rice crepe that is a very popular street snack in Vietnam.  Banh means cake while zeo means sizzle.  Chef Annie Elmore will show you how to make these delicious crepes with a pork and shrimp filling and a mushroom filling rolled up with savory accompaniments.

Born in Cambodia with family in Vietnam, Chef Anh (“Annie”) Dao Elmore has created another delicious class featuring traditional Vietnamese Flavors. Measuring in at four feet and eleven and a half inches, with ten years experience at Tom Douglas Restaurants and a blue belt in Cho Dan Bo, Annie is our tiny but mightiest (and feistiest) chef!

What You’ll Learn and Make:

  • Crepe Batter
  • Pork & Shrimp Filling
  • Mushroom Filling
  • Nuoc Cham
  • Pickled Daikon and Carrots
  • Accompaniments
  • The art of making the irresistible crispy, delicate, golden brown crepe

Virtual Classroom:

This class will be very similar to our previous in-person Hot Stove classes, with an instructor that demonstrates how to make each dish “live” via Zoom. As a registered attendee, you will have the ability to watch, learn and interact with the instructor, just as if you were sitting at one of our Hot Stove Society work tables! Feel free to cook along with the group or sit back and let your in-home sous chef do all the work – either way, we promise it will be a fun and educational time in the kitchen!
