Come help us celebrate our sweet 16! The 16th Annual SVC Letterpress Wayzgoose will take place on Saturday, September 16th.

What’s a Wayzgoose? The origin of the word is fuzzy, as it could be a misspelling of “wasegoose” from Middle English for “harvest goose.” But it has come to mean a “Traditional late summer feast and frivolity to honor printers to mark the return of work-by-candlelight conditions.” There will be no roast goose at SVC’s Wayzgoose, but frivolity will be in abundance.

The celebration begins the night before with the Seattle premiere of Pressing On: The Letterpress Film + Printer Panel Discussion at the PACCAR IMAX theater (advanced tickets required).

The Wayzgoose itself will take place from 10 am – 4 pm at the school on Saturday. We’ll be featuring over a dozen local letterpress printers in the Marketplace, an equipment swap, a studio tour with print-your-own-keepsakes, and last but not least, the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum‘s New Impressions Exhibit on display!

The SVC Wayzgoose is always free, and tickets for the film can be purchased at svcletterpressfilm.brownpapertickets.com
