OutRising 2019 | An Evening for Global LGBTIQ Equality

Please join us for OutRising: An Evening for Global LGBTIQ Equality on Thursday, February 7, 2019! OutRising is the signature fundraising event for OutRight Action International, an incredible organization that advances human rights for LGBTIQ people around the world, especially in places where they face extreme discrimination, persecution, and violence. We will have a fabulous evening of delicious drinks, appetizers, and the good company of over 200 OutRight fans and new friends at  The Collective, a fabulous new “urban basecamp” in South Lake Union. Guest speakers will include OutRight’s Executive Director Jessica Stern, who has recently traveled to Beirut and Iraq, and was cited in the recent decision by the Supreme Court of India to strike down their anti-homosexuality law.  We will also hear from OutRight’s Columbia Law School Public Service Fellow Ping “Hoping” Hou, who works with OutRight’s Asia and United Nations programs and founded an LGBTIQ organization in South China. Fierce and fabulous emcee Laura Michalek will lead us in a fun and meaningful night and auction off a few select and sensational items, including a private dinner party prepared by chef Tom Black, and getaways to warm and relaxing destinations. There will also be an opportunity to support OutRight’s work at the event, and Cupcake Royale will top it all off with babycakes for dessert!
