Winston Wächter Fine Art is excited to announce Ever Buoyant, our seventh solo exhibition with Ethan Murrow.

Furthering his ever-evolving cast of optimistic characters caught in peculiar circumstances, Murrow extends his oeuvre beyond graphite drawings and paintings and into ceramics, painted tile, wallpaper, and largescale canvasses. The newfound diversity of medium allows Murrow to engage in the same exploratory wanderlust of his subjects within his own craft. Intimately detailed flora, waterscapes, and mechanical contraptions all convey an ambition to escape the everyday, seek a new frontier, create magic out of our surroundings.

“At the center of this story is my desire to find shreds of optimism even when it sometimes feels like a fruitless cause. This character may be an eternal fool, misguided and oblivious to much of the world, but they’re certainly committed to trying and that effort might just produce a new dory design. Then again, they might sink in the middle of Lake Union since they forgot to check for leaks.” — Ethan Murrow
