Dr. Bess is the author of Our Grandchildren Redesigned (2015), a work of speculative non-fiction that explores the evolving field of biotechnology, and the impact of “superhuman” capabilities on our future bodies and lives. This program will feature Dr. Bess in dialogue with Seattle-based science fiction author, Ted Chiang. In a rare public appearance, Chiang will read from his award winning body of work that has earned him four Nebulas, four Hugos, one Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award, and four Locus awards, among many others.
