Seattle’s first workforce consisted overwhelmingly of Asian and Indigenous migrant laborers.
Though these workers largely powered the urban and regional economy, their role in building the city has long been forgotten. Join historian Megan Asaka as she explores Seattle’s early days from the perspective of these marginalized laborers whose experiences hold important lessons for the city’s past-and present.
