Calling All Artists! The Center for Wooden Boat’s 45th Anniversary Poster Art Competition is now underway!!

The theme of the anniversary celebration is CONNECTING GENERATIONS & MARITIME HERITAGE. We will celebrate the many facets of The Center for Wooden Boats by highlighting special programs and a series of small events focusing on woodworking, boatbuilding, youth and adult programs, our Cama Beach Boathouse, our historical boat collection, and of course, on-the-water fun! For the past 45 years, the CWB community has come together to share northwest maritime with the Pacific Northwest with the Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival. This year, we want to celebrate festival all year long!

The Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival is one of the best family entertainment values in the Seattle area. The Heritage Wooden Boats theme is merely a guideline; artists may interpret as they wish. For inspiration or to see past Festival posters, please visit https://www.cwb.org/poster-exhibit.

Anyone is welcome to submit an entry. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges consisting of CWB staff and the CWB Festival Committee of volunteers.

The winning artist may be given feedback by the selection committee while in the completion process. Therefore, applicants MUST be willing to alter their design based on recommendations from the committee. The finished art will be used on Festival posters, postcards, t-shirts and for advertising and branding purposes. Therefore, the art should be both visually appealing as well as attention-grabbing, and the artist and committee will work together to achieve this goal. Digital animation capabilities and manipulation is a plus! Please be aware that once the art is complete, text and sponsor logos will be added by someone other than the artist to transform the artwork into the 45th Anniversary Poster.
