K9 NATURAL INTRODUCES “BONE APPÉTIT” TO SEATTLE – DOGGY DINING AT ITS FINEST

K9 NATURAL PARTNERS WITH AWARD-WINNING CHEF JOHN SUNDSTROM TO HOST SEATTLE’S FIRST POP-UP RESTAURANT FOR PUPS AND THEIR PEOPLE

New Zealand pet nutrition company K9 Natural is partnering with James Beard award–winning chef John Sundstrom to host Bone Appétit, Seattle’s first pop-up café for dogs and dog owners, in South Lake Union Discovery Center Park on Saturday, June 10 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This free public event will welcome pups and pet owners to the pop-up café, Bark, featuring a tasting menu of K9 Natural products for pooches while pet parents enjoy delicious bites inspired by Chef Sundstrom’s celebrated Capitol Hill restaurant, Lark.

“The whole goal of Bone Appétit is to get pet owners thinking about the quality of food they feed their pets and if it mirrors the quality they feed themselves,” said Jo O’Sullivan, Global Head of Marketing for K9 Natural. “Seattle is a natural fit for us, as this city is passionate about its pets and embraces pet nutrition, quality ingredients and an active lifestyle. Our whole-food ingredients can be traced from farm gate to your pet’s plate, as we believe in delivering everything your dog needs and nothing it doesn’t. We’re excited to introduce new nutritional options to Seattle’s pets.”

Known for creating locally sourced and seasonally inspired dishes at Lark, Chef Sundstrom is an enthusiastic dog owner, making him the ideal partner to bring Bone Appétit to life in Seattle and introduce K9 Natural to the Seattle market.

“It is exciting to partner with K9 Natural on Bone Appétit, as it is a company that values sustainable and fresh, natural ingredients, just as I do,” said Chef Sundstrom. “They care about providing the safest pet food to the world, and I care about providing my diners and my own dogs with the best ingredients I can get my hands on, so it’s a great collaboration to celebrate the love we have for our four-legged friends.”

During Bone Appétit, Chef Sundstrom will be serving new creations at his pop-up for people, featuring:

  • Rotisserie chicken salad with baby carrots, radish, spring onions and cress
  • Beer vinegar–glazed lamb ribs with green papaya salad, tender herbs and chiles

In addition to Chef Sundstrom’s menu, event attendees will have the option to dine in or take away a gourmet bite for their pups from Bark’s complimentary healthy canine menu. Featured menu items at Bark will be:

  • Beef Feast: grass-fed beef with eggs, kelp, flaxseed, fruit, vegetables and New Zealand green-lipped mussels
  • Lamb Feast: grass-fed lamb with eggs, kelp, flaxseed, fruit, vegetables and New Zealand green-lipped mussels
  • Lamb Green Tripe Super Food: 100% grass-fed lamb green tripe packed with protein and healthy prebiotics and probiotics

Following the June 10 Bone Appétit pop-up café, K9 Natural will partner with Kirsten Helle, a personal chef to several Seattle Seahawks players, for a Bone Appétit pop-up at Bite of Seattle. Chef Helle will serve up healthy bites for pet owners as their dogs snack on the best of K9 Natural’s products, available for free sampling and takeaway. In addition, K9 Natural will host smaller activations later this summer at Ghostfish Brewery and Fremont Brewery.

K9 Natural will be proudly donating to Seattle Humane’s Pet Food Bank during Bone Appétit month in Seattle. The Pet Food Bank collects and distributes pet food donations for pets belonging to low-income seniors, families in crisis and other community members in need.

K9 Natural is available at Mud Bay and All The Best locations throughout Washington State. It is made fresh in New Zealand from local, human-grade, quality ingredients, featuring sustainable, free-range, grass finished and grass-fed meat packed with fresh whole-food ingredients and selected vitamins and minerals, and it is naturally free from grain, gluten and artificial preservatives.
