A “perfect storm” of unforeseen events: Warm spring weather when people tend to skip donor appointments, confusion over post-COVID vaccination eligibility (there is NO wait time to give blood after receiving the COVID vaccine) and record high patient usage, has caused the biggest blood shortage in our region since the start of the pandemic.
Your blood donation is desperately needed and an opportunity to give blood is coming up at our next Swedish Pop-up Donor Center on the Amazon Campus in South Lake Union (2nd floor of the Van Vorst Building – 426 Terry Ave N) on May 21.
