Caffe Torino is proud to present: The silk road. A collection of stunning photographs on canvas by local artist Jiamin Zhu.
Jiamin works with local models, make-up and wardrobe artists to create fairytale-like portraits that use the stunning PNW landscape as backdrop. The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes, playing a significant role in the development of civilizations. Jiamin’s process of making art was inspired by the silk road as it involves viewpoint exchanges and cultural fusion. These photos are reflections of fairy tales and fantasies she encountered on my personal journey of cultural migration from the East to the West.
