MOHAI is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI, also known as Armistice Day. There will be activities throughout the day for all ages to enjoy.

Armistice Day Ceremony 

10:30 am, Boeing Centennial Terrace

Ceremony with special guest retired Rear Admiral William Center commemorating the centennial of Armistice Day. The historic Great Seattle Fire bell will ring, joining Bells of Peace across the nation, honoring the sacrifices made at home and abroad.

Armistice Celebration 

11:30 am—5 pm, Faye G. Allen Grand Atrium

Celebrate this important day with music, crafts, and special events. Learn about the significance of the Great War and Armistice Day through presentations by Veterans for Peace and historian Bill Woodward.

UW Shell House Cruise

After taking part in MOHAI’s Armistice Day Ceremony, climb aboard an Argosy boat for a free round-trip cruise across beautiful Lake Union. The cruise will visit the University of Washington’s historic 100-year-old World War I Navy seaplane hanger, known today as the ASUW Shell House, before returning to the museum through the Montlake Cut.
