Fill the Cup 2017: Neighbors Helping Neighbors

You’re invited! Fill the Cup 2017: Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Queen Anne Food Bank eagerly invites you and your company to take part in our 2nd Annual Fill the Cup food and fund drive. September 12 – 21, 2017

Last year we kicked off our 1st annual Fill the Cup event, sponsored by Athletic Awards, with the goal of  collecting 10,000 pounds of food in 10 days. Between 34 Queen Anne and South Lake Union organizations hosting donation bins, and 52 individuals and organizations donating food and dollars, our community raised the equivalent of 25,000 pounds!! This is truly an example of neighbors helping neighbors.

Our goal this year is to raise 30,000 pounds of food in 10 days to benefit the QAFB and we need your help to get there!

If you are able, please drop off donations at Athletic Awards any time during the drive. The last day to drop off is the afternoon of Thursday 9/22. If you need your donations picked up, please contact us at events@qafb.org or 206.216.4102.

You can donate dollars at www.qafoodbank.dojiggy.com

You can select the participant there on the left side. You will see Dave Mercer & Team Athletic Awards

If you have any questions you can contact me at dave@athleticawards.com or 206-624-3995

Help us reach & surpass that goal!!  Thank you for your help!

SVC 16th Annual Letterpress Waysgoose

Come help us celebrate our sweet 16! The 16th Annual SVC Letterpress Wayzgoose will take place on Saturday, September 16th.

What’s a Wayzgoose? The origin of the word is fuzzy, as it could be a misspelling of “wasegoose” from Middle English for “harvest goose.” But it has come to mean a “Traditional late summer feast and frivolity to honor printers to mark the return of work-by-candlelight conditions.” There will be no roast goose at SVC’s Wayzgoose, but frivolity will be in abundance.

The celebration begins the night before with the Seattle premiere of Pressing On: The Letterpress Film + Printer Panel Discussion at the PACCAR IMAX theater (advanced tickets required).

The Wayzgoose itself will take place from 10 am – 4 pm at the school on Saturday. We’ll be featuring over a dozen local letterpress printers in the Marketplace, an equipment swap, a studio tour with print-your-own-keepsakes, and last but not least, the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum‘s New Impressions Exhibit on display!

The SVC Wayzgoose is always free, and tickets for the film can be purchased at svcletterpressfilm.brownpapertickets.com
