This holiday season, in the spirit of the folk story Stone Soup, Chef John Howie of Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar is initiating a food collection for Food Lifeline at his South Lake Union location. During May, all four locations of Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzerias have pledged a dollar-for-dollar donation match of up to $5,000 for Japanese earthquake & tsunami relief. The restaurant teams will pair each guest contribution with an equal amount of their funds, hoping to reach upwards of $10,000. At months end, a check will be presented to Mercy Corps to bring the needed emergency supplies and care to the citizens most affected by the recent natural disasters in northeastern Japan.
