Ok, so the Argosy Lakes Cruise is 2 hours long, but prepare your Gilligan's Island jokes anyway. Boat trips are my go-to activity with out-of-town visitors, and the Argosy tour of Lake Union and Lake Washington is a great one. You get to peep into houseboats, squeeze through the ship canal, enjoy the leafy green Arboretum, gaze upon the underside of 520 and speculate on the cost of private hillside trams for Eastside waterfront homes. Afterwards you can hang in Lake Union park and get pizza at Tutta Bella. Tips: grab a stiff drink upon boarding to make the yuk-yuk narration bearable, and for those with young kids - plan a naptime trip and the rocking boat will quickly have them off to sleep.
