Songs of the sea are easy to learn and fun to sing. All ages welcome. Broadside & the Handsome Cabin Boys will be on board as songleaders to keep the music rolling, with opportunity for anyone to lead a song or just join in the chorus. Two female chantey singers and their male counterparts sing up a storm. Admission free, donations accepted.

Row House Cafe is pleased to present “Cross Culture” an exhibition from artist Jess Level.

Level’s show will be in two parts. His opening show will feature his work that was inspired by his life in Spain: “Cross Culture: Across the Sea.” The second phase of his show will feature work that is more locally inspired: “Cross Culture: Bringing it Home.” The body of work he intends to show will contain both oil on canvas and pen and ink drawings.

Research organizations of SLU (PATH, ISB, Seattle Biomed, UW Medicine, Seattle Children’s, Center for Wooden Boats, and Fred Hutch) are hosting an open house event in conjunction with the Seattle Science Festival. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. activities will cater to elementary and middle school children. These activities will align with the Washington State educational standards for science and mathematics. From 1 to 4 p.m., the programming will focus on high school students and adults featuring panel discussions at 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 about career pathways and cool STEM-related jobs. These will be hosted in Fred Hutch’s Arnold building with representatives from each organization in attendance.
